Updated September 3, 2026Prince William County remains one of the region's busiest markets as of September 24, 2026, with about 935 active listings (the strongest June inventory in five years), roughly 668 homes pending, a $599,450 median sold price (up 3.4% year over year), and homes selling in about 18 days. Inventory growth gives buyers real selection while genuinely well-priced homes still sell quickly.
Area-level data for Prince William County, updated September 24, 2026. PWAR's June 2026 report (published July 10) shows active listings at 935 at month-end, up about 21% year over year and a five-year June high, with 663 closed sales in June, up 18.2%. The May 2026 median sold price was $599,450, up 3.4% year over year, and average days on market held near 18 days in April and May. Redfin tallies roughly 668 pending listings countywide, while its February reading showed a $555,000 median with a 41-day median days on market. The September 2026 county report publishes in mid-October. 30-year fixed mortgage rate 6.95% (Freddie Mac, week ending September 17, 2026, the latest published reading), up from 6.76% the prior week.
